Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principal, the kaffārah for breaking an oath is the feeding of ten needy persons twice a day for one day, or providing them enough clothing to conceal their bodies. If one cannot feed or clothe the poor due to a valid reason, then he will have to fast for three days in continuous succession.[1]

If one is not financially able to feed or clothe the poor it will be sufficient for him to fast for three continuous days. However, if he chooses not to fast and wishes to feed the poor in instalments, then it will be permissible.[2]
