Teins investment incentives.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Tiens is a chinese based international company registered in over 100 countries.

This company sale different products.

They give membership to people and give them opportunity to earn money.

I want to ask that whether money earn through their way is permissible or not ?

Their membership mthod is somewhat like this :

BAKAR haS to register with Tiens company. Then they give registration code to the BAKAR.

Then BAKAR has to buy products () from Tiens company and when he has bought products upto about 35 thousands Pakistani Rupees, then BAKAR would become 3-Star Member.

Then BAKAR has to register another 3 members on his reference with the Tiens Company. And when those 3 members become 3-Star members (by buying products of 35 thousands from Tiens)

then BAKAR who has brought those 3 members to be registered, would become 4-Star member

and he would get benefit whenever his refeenced members buy products from Tiens Company. And when all those 3 members would become 4-Star members,

then BAKAR would become 5-Star and

similarly as further members are registered on BAKAR refrence,

BAKAR grade would elate and he would benefit from all their bought prducts.

And

similarly if BAKAR has registered on ZAID reference, so then ZAID would now get benefits from BAKAR and also from BAKAR’s referenced members bought/buying products.

And now if BAKAR choose not to further reference any other member, he would still get benefits as his referenced members grade elate and their referenced members grade elated and the process continues further.

I am asking that whether BAKAR’s earnings is HALAL or HARAM ? (except the first 35 thousands bought products)

And whether the first 35 thousands worth bought products were legitimate /permissible or not ?

Please enlighten us in detail with the aid of juristic references (provided it does not waste much of your precious time )

Tiens Company’s website is : http://www.tiens.com/ and local version http://www.tiens.com.pk/ Dar ul Ifta Deoband’s fatwa on Tiens Company is present on main page of http://www.darulifta-deoband.org/

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

After several attempts to try and access the fatwa issued on Darul Iftaa Deobands website we were unsuccessful. Therefore, we are unaware of their fatwa and cannot comment on it.

According to our understanding you mentioned that if one has to purchase items worth R 35,000 and he gets three more clients to purchase goods from the company, then the company rewards him by making him a 3 star member etc. Usually, such memberships and packages are given by companies to their clients as incentives so that they can attract more customers. Such incentives are regarded as gifts which are generally permissible. [1]

However, you mentioned “BAKAR grade would elate and he would benefit from all their bought prducts”. What do you mean by benefit from all their products? Please clarify. Also send us the exact link you are referring to that you saw on Darul Iftaa Deobands website regarding Tiens.
