Translation: “Whoever keeps a dog, a qiraat will be deducted from his good deeds every day, unless the dog is kept for farming needs or it is a sheepdog.” Ibn Seereen and Abu Salih narrate from Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu anhu, who narrated from the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, “Except sheepdogs, dogs kept for farming needs or hunting dogs.” Abu Hazim narrates from Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu anhu, who narrates from the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, “a hunting dog or a sheepdog dog.”

Translation: “Whoever keeps a dog which is not for farming needs, a qiraat will be deducted from his good deeds every day.”

Translation: It has been reported from Ibn Umar, radiyallahu anhuma that the Prophet, sallalahu alayhi wa sallam gave an order that all the dogs be killed, so the news spread all over Madinah that they should be killed.

Translation: the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “were it not for the fact that the dogs are a nation from amongst the nations, I would have ordered for them to be killed, so kill from them all the black ones.”

The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked Jibreel, alayhi assalaam, “what prevented you from entering the house?” Jibreel, alayhi assalaam replied, “there was a dog in the house, and we do not enter houses in which there are dogs and pictures.” So the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered that the dog should be taken out and then ordered that the dogs should be killed.”
