Is contraception permissible?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

We had an protective intercourse but later we found that the Condom had come out and we did not notice it. We just had a kid in less than 6 months back. My wife says she is not physically or mentally prepared for the second child as of now. We wanted to know if it is allowed to use contraception pills under these circumstances under the light of Islam.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We understand your predicament.
