I love one girl and she to loves me. She has told this matter to her parents and they have agreed for me without seeing me but the problem is her elder brother who does not want me to marry with her, although he has seen me a lot of time and met me. Now, the situation is getting worse and we two want to do nikah as early possible. Can we do the nikah in any mosque. My parents know about the girl but they are saying no and even my elder brother who also could not marry to a girl as my parents said no but i dont want that to happen again and niether my brother wants this to happen.Kindly, help me out with a valid suggestion.

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh
You should try and convince your parents that you like the girl and you intend to marry her. It is always wise to engage them in the process and make them part of the decision. The wisdom behind this is that they will not point a finger to you in the future should anything to the marriage (Allah forbid). Your parents may then talk to the girls parents and arrange for marriage.
If your parents are not in favour of the girl, you should give due consideration to their opinion. They have experience and wisdom and only wish good for you. Perhaps they perceive that this partner is not suited for your lifestyle. Therefore, you should also make Istikhara and seek Allah’s guidance on the matter. Do not rush with the matter as you would only regret in the future. You rather play safe and delay the marriage for a few weeks than rush and bear the burden for the rest of your life.
