Please let us know whether this statement is authentic or not.
If it is, then please explain the meanings of the three names mentioned therein.
Lastly, would you advise naming a child Ahyad based on the above statement?

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

“سيد بنى دارا واتخذ مأدبة وبعث داعيا فالسيد الجبار والمأدبة القرآن والدار الجنة والداعي أنا فأنا اسمي في القرآن محمد وفي الإنجيل أحمد وفي التوراة أحيد وإنما سميت أحيد لأني أحيد عن أمتي جهنم فأحبوا العرب بكل قلوبكم” . (عد ابن عساكر عن ابن عباس) وفيه إسحاق بن بشر متروك.

1)      The Muhaditheen have classified this hadith to be very weak.

وفي التوراة أحيد ذكره ابن دحية بمد الألف وكسر الحاء ومعناه أحيد أمتي عن النار وقيل معناه الواحد وقال عياض ومعناه صاحب القضيب أي السيف وفي الدر المنظم للعرقي من أسمائه المصدق المسلم الإمام المهاجر العامل اذن خير الآمر الناهي المحلل المحرم الواضع الرافع المجير

2)      The name is not Ahyad. It is pronounced as Aheed. (Umdatul Qari, Vol 16, Pg 97, Maktabah Rashidiyah)

3)      The name Aheed means “He who takes to one side”.  (Treasury of Muslim names Pg 25)

It is permissible to keep this name.
