Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org
Answer

The maximum period of confinement is 40 days. A female’s period of
confinement (Nifaas) ends upon the bleeding ending even if it is before 40
days. Thereafter, she must take a bath to purify herself and perform Salaat.
Salaat is not compulsory upon a baby.
