I have read all the questions relating to talaaq but im a bit confused on the Issue

please can you tell me when talaaq is valid ? does on have to say it verbally for talaaq to be valid or is talaaq valid if it is said in ones thoughts ? Also please just explain In general the rules regarding giving talaaq, what one should do or dont do !

Answer

The Talaaq must be stated verbally for it to be valid. The mere thought of Talaaq is not valid.
