Man gives his wife one talaaq and the iddat period expires and they recontract a new nikah does the one talaaq from before still stand for their future

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

if after a man gives his wife one talaaq and the iddat period expires and they recontract a new nikah does the one talaaq from before still stand for their future (in that he only has the option of giving his wife two more talaaqs) or is it cancelled out by the new nikah, jazakallah

Answer

The Talaaq given will still stand. The husband will now have the rights of only two most divorces.
