My name is Azeem actually muhammad azeem people call me azeem someone told me that i must not allow people to call me azeem as its wrong im making shirk …true?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

my name is Azeem actually muhammad azeem people call me azeem someone told me that i must not allow people to call me azeem as its wrong im making shirk and so are the people who call me that,is this true or false. also if one reads one 99 name of allah is it Al Azeem or Ya Azeem.

Answer

The word Azeem is derived from the Arabic word Azuma, which means great, in
honour and respect.

The quality Azeem is not the sole quality of Allah, and hence it is
permissible to call a person by the name Azeem only.
