Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

A nephew (brother’s son) is a Mahram for his aunt and therefore it is Haraam (prohibited) for her to marry him. It is surprising to learn that she is having inclinations towards her nephew. This seriously questions her shame and modesty. You state that they are fed up by living in this way. It is obvious that there is no peace and contentment in a Haraam relation. They require the seniors of the family to intervene and sever the relationship. The aunt and nephew should regret their actions and they should never be allowed to travel or stay together alone. Shaytaan will rekindle their relation and lure them into Haraam. Consider the fact that if they become intimate what would be the status of the child that would be born?

Since their father’s have passed on, the uncles or elder brothers are responsible to take control of the situation. It is your responsibility as a friend to inform the responsible people of the family of their Haraam relation. This may seem to be difficult, but by you doing so you are saving their lives from further harm and destruction.

And Allah knows best
