In the Fajr Salaat, during the second rakaat, after standing up from Ruku, the Imam raised his hands and started making dua’.Please by quoting the related hadith, advise if this is permissible.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

The dua’ was made in Arabic.

Answer

According to the Shaaf’ee Madhab, there is Qunoot (Du’aa) after the Ruku of
the second Rakaat in Fajr Salaat. If a Hanafi performs Salaat behind a Shaaf
‘ee Imaam in Fajr Salaat, he should leave his hands on his side and say,
‘Aameen’ to the Du’aa.
