Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

You should tell him that this is a sinful, prohibited act and that he should repent immediately. Tell him that he should thank Allah for giving him a wife and a halal, rewarding way to fulfill his needs and satisfy his desires.

It is such a great blessing of Allah to have a wife one can love, cherish and get reward for fulfilling one’s desires with. To ignore this blessing and continue in this sin would be very ungrateful of him.

As a permissible alternative, he can instead seek satisfaction from the wife’s hand (i.e have her assist him in fulfilling his needs) since it is permissible to seek satisfaction from one’s spouse and this would not be considered as impermissible masturbation. [i][ii]
